Surprise Elements started in Houston during the quiet of COVID — not as a business plan, but as a way to feel purposeful again. As a full-time mom navigating postpartum depression, I found healing in the simple act of making something beautiful with my hands.
My first candle was a birthday surprise for my husband. He loved it — and told me I should sell them. I wasn't sure. But I started anyway, learned from every imperfect wick and off-balance scent, and slowly built what you see today.
The name turned out to be prophetic. This brand has surprised me at every turn.
What we make — and why it matters
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches using 100% natural coconut wax, toxin-free fragrance oils, and cotton wicks. No phthalates. No parabens. Just clean, room-filling scent inspired by the rich fragrance traditions I grew up with — sandalwood, oud, and the warmth of incense.
Luxury shouldn't come at a cost to your home or the planet. That's why we use reusable jars, refill options, and mindful packaging.
