Candle Care
Our candles are made from 100% USA-grown soy wax, a renewable and sustainable resource. We use natural cotton wicks for a clean burn, and our glass containers are fully recyclable and reusable. Our fragrance oils are phthalate-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and created from a blend of essential oils and high-quality fragrance ingredients.
To ensure you get the best experience from your Surprise Elements candle, follow these care tips
Keep your candle away from children, pets, and anything flammable. Avoid burning in drafty areas to prevent uneven burning.
Always trim the wick to 1/4″ before lighting. Trimming the wick prevents high flames, reduces smoke, and avoids soot build-up on the glass. It also helps the candle burn evenly.
Ensure no debris (like trimmed wick pieces) remains in the candle. This helps maintain a clean, even burn and avoids potential flare-ups.
Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Prolonged burning causes the wax to fully liquefy, which can make the wick shift and lead to uneven burning.
Guide to Candle Tunneling
Candle tunneling happens when a candle burns down the center, leaving a ring of unmelted wax. Here’s how to prevent and fix it
How to Prevent Tunneling
First Burn Matters: Burn your candle long enough for the entire top layer to melt and reach the edges (1-3 hours).
Burn for 2-4 Hours: Keep it burning long enough for even melting on each use.
Trim the Wick: Keep your wick trimmed to ¼ inch to ensure an even burn.
